St. Joseph EEC awarded Kansas Community Service Program Tax Credits
Award offers donors new state tax credits on donations

UPDATE:  There are a limited amount of the 2026 tax credits available. If you are interested in applying for the 50% KS Tax Credits in 2026, please email us and we'll notify you in August if these credits are still available for 2026. Thank you!

St. Joseph is now offering donors to the capital campaign a 50% credit on their Kansas state income tax in exchange for donations made after July 1, 2026.

That means 50% of the amount of your qualified donation can be directly reduced from your KS income tax in the year your contribution is made. For example, with a charitable donation of $5,000, you can take $2,500 off your Kansas income tax.

State tax credits are much better than tax deductions because they reduce the total amount of taxes owed to the state, rather than just reducing your income that is taxed. They are a way for a taxpayer (individual or corporate) to substantially reduce the cost of making a contribution to the campaign in support of the St. Joseph EEC. The credits are transferable and refundable. The minimum donation is $250, and there is no maximum.

If you pay Kansas income tax, and you would like to support the St. Joseph EEC renovation, this is an ideal way to support and cut your taxes significantly. Even if you take a standard deduction, you can benefit by claiming this on your tax return. The comparison below demonstrates the impact of using a 50% income tax credit instead of a regular charitable deduction. A 50% state tax credit wipes out $5,000 of what you owe directly to the Kansas Dept. of Revenue on your 2026 state tax return.

About the Program Award

The St. Joseph Early Education Center renovation project was awarded the Kansas Community Service Program Tax Credits (CSP-TC) which provides Kansas state income tax credits for donors who support the project in 2026-27. Based on the merit of theSt. Joseph Early Education Center renovation project and its importance to the Shawnee and surrounding community, St. Joseph received the highest-level award from the Kansas Dept. of Commerce.

The St. Joseph EEC project was selected from among dozens of statewide applicants undertaking major capital campaigns for qualifying community benefit projects. The CSP-TC award provides St. Joseph with the ability to offer significant tax savings to donors who contribute to the EEC renovation’s capital campaign -- 50% back on every dollar they donate*.

Applying is easy. Contact our campaign team below and we'll provide you with the simple forms to secure the credits in 2026 and/or 2027. As with any charitable contribution, please consult your tax advisor with the information we provide.
